Doug had a setback last night. He had severe swelling of his cerebellum. It wasn't bleeding thank goodness, just backed up spinal fluid. He wasn't awake or responsive when we saw him this morning, although we saw a few flickers of his eyes. He had to have the ventilator and they put a shunt in his head to drain the fluid. Needless to say I'm very upset but relieved because after we had to leave the ICU he opened his eyes and followed the nurse and responded to the Dr. He lifted his arm. So he as taken a few steps forward and has dodged another bullet, The Dr. didn't think he'd wake up at 4am this morning. He's fighting again.

 
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry your and your family are going through all of this. I will pray for your family.

Wow, Laura. I hope he turns around and you start to see some major improvement today.
 

 

Thinking of you and praying for your husband and family. I hadn't been on on a few days and was very sad when I read your post. It sounds like your DH is a fighter though and hopefully will come through this with no problems (as I know many have). Lots of prayers coming your way.
