I think Molly is still too little --

She does well with a bottle. I wonder if it would be better at daycare to have a cup. I'm hoping to avoid a nursing strike with this one like I had with each of the boys. They were horrid.

What do you think? She is 4.5 months. I'll ask the ped. when we see her on Friday.

I haven't even thought to introduce a sippy yet, but Everett is barely 4 months. I can't remember when I started my girls on them. 8-9 months maybe?

John likes the sippy. We've used the playtex, the nuby, the one with the straw, and the avent ones. I try to use the early ones so he doesn't get too much flow. He does well with them when he wants to. For his feedings when I'm not there I still leave bottles. But give him a sippy to practice with during the day.

Jake just turned 5 months old, so we still haven't introduced any sippies. I think Lola was well into her 8-9 month before she really got the hang of one and we also had to try several different types before she settled with the Nuby (sp?) Now she will only drink out of straw cups and those hard disposable sippies. I had her take her formula out of a sippy by the time she was 11 months old and stopped bottles.

My pediatrician said that 6-8 months is ok for sippy cups that don't have the valves.

With valves, 9-12 months.
