I had tubes put in my ears when I was 9 or 10. I had to wear earplugs to go swimming or when there was a risk of water getting in but that was it. There was zero pain. I remember wanting to go back to school the same afternoon after the surgery (it was a day surgery, in and out in about 4 or 5 hours). If I hadn't been so drowsy from the anaesthesia I would have been just fine!

Charlotte had tubes put in when she was 2. It was a smooth procedure and while one tube has fallen out on its own, the other is still in place and we have had NO ear infections since the tubes went it.

She had 7 months' worth of chronic ear infections before the surgery and not a single one since.

Definitely worth it! He'll do fine and feel a ton better afterward.
