Question Tumbling question

Has anyone ever done a Mommy and Me tumbling class???
Abigail and I are taking one. Yesterday was the first day and she was less than cooperative. I do know a lot of it was she was tired. I tried ALL DAY to get her to take a nap, but "no can do mommy". I am just wondering if it will get better or should I give it up?? She didn't scream or have a fit or anything, but she just did what she wanted. It is only a 30 min class and they pretty much can do what they want, within limits. She wouldn't try any of the equipment, with the exception of the personal trampoline. BUT, I had to make her get on that and she screamed about that. But, then came back in 5 mins time wanting to BOUNCE!!! LOL

They had a short circle time where the kids were suppose to sit in our laps and talk about body parts and animal sounds. Abby wouldn't even sit with me. How can I get her to cooperate?????

I don't think Abby's behaviour was very unusual. It sounds pretty much like what my kids would do at a new place. Anything new they have to do on their own terms, when they feel ready for it. Leanna still won't get on Rachel's pony and just tonight finally decided to go into the top of the playstructure that we've had for 5 months.

Kaylie tried tumbling at age 2 and loved it. Calandra tried at age 2... and let's just say we took a 6-month break before trying again! Abigail's behavior was very much like CJ's - she was just not ready to participate at that age.

We did give it about a month before giving up - it could be that Abigail simply needs a few weeks to get the hang of the place. In our case, after a month of non-participation, we took a break and asked her again after 6 months. At that time she said she wanted to do it, and she's been going like gangbusters since!
