Default what kind of math are your kids doing?

Hannah is in 2nd grade and I was wondering what kind of math other 2nd graders are doing. They have just done addition/subtraction...pretty basic stuff...Hannah seems to have a real phobia and I don't know how to help her. I don't want to scare her...but I think other schools 2nd grade math may be even more difficult (the reason I worry is because we are likely moving to a more "competitive"...for lack of a better term... school district...)

Daniel is doing the basic add and subtract, but they have started a little bit of two column addition as well. Not only are they going basic add/subtract, but they are doing some geometery (learning about shapes) and alegbra (like fill in the missing number 8 + x = 13.) They had done stuff with fractions. It seems to be a pretty good basis for building on more complex math skills as they grow.

I'm a math person, so I enjoy helping him with his homework. It's the english things that are going to kill me the older he gets!

Rachel brought home her 1st paper with 2-digit numbers where the # needs to be carried over to the next column such as 23 + 38. (I can't remember what that is called.) I don't know where that sort of work is in comparison with other schools.

We've had a little bit of pre-algebra like Daniel has.
