I took the kids fishing earlier this afternoon today inbetween rain showers....

they loved it, of course.

Very cute pictures!! We just had fish for free day yesterday and we took the girls and my parents, too. My Dad is in charge of baiting and casting (he never wants us to do it)

. We caught so many different fish (3 rainbow trout, a perch, a blue gill, & a large mouth bass) & I was surprised. DH's rainbow was about 18-20" long and snaped off the line before I got a picture of him holding it.

I try to avoid the fishing derbys because they're always so dang busy and crowded!

about the one that got away... the rainbow trouts here are oftentimes about 16-18 inches

Actually it wasn't crowded at all. We don't fish that often so we don't do the liscense thing. I wish our trouts were that size on average. They are about 10 - 12 inches around here at the one lake we usually fish at. It was nice to see a big fish for a change.

Next Sunday is our 2nd and last fish for free day so if the weather is nice we'll be doing it again.

Fun! Dh is taking the kids fishing today. We have 4 lakes in our subdivision that are private so it's never crowded and we don't have to have fishing licenses.
