Thumbs down had another urologist appt today

and we learned exactly what I basically already knew...

Sarah is STILL blocked up in the intestines
despite the enimas and the miralax and that whole regiment....
she's still pretty heavily blocked up.

I had no idea what the Dr would say once he confirmed what I already knew..... what happens next after all? So that was the only new info for me.

He referred me to a pediatric gastro-interologist. .. sigh...
I called the moment I got to the car while sitting in the parking lot.
Earliest appointment... 8 weeks out

Apparently, the GI doctors have a few more tricks up their sleeves to help get rid of such blockages

The Dr didn't want to start doing other tests until the blockage was taken care of, and while I agree with that,.. I really don't have to do the waiting.
I was hoping to have things figured out and fixed up before school started back up in September. Now, she'll be starting school and we will only BEGIN the GI process once she's already back in school.

I'm just so exhausted. Sarah takes it in stride. I'm just exhausted.

Sorry hon! Ask about cancellations- also, I'd look at other pedi-gastros- even if it means driving a lot longer, if you can get in even a couple weeks sooner.

oh, I did forget to ask about the cancellation lists...
as for the other ped-GIs..
I'm already driving quite a ways away to get to the Drs I'm seeing. This metro area isn't really stocked up too heavily with the pediatric specialists. Or at least, there are more patients needing the specialists than we have..

Its rediculous how long you have to wait to see specialists! Do you have an HMO or PPO insurance?

How about the stuff they give to clean you out before a colon exam? I know they give the test to children, so they must have a child's version of the stuff. Why won't they prescribe that for Sarah?

Oh man!!! I don't understand why specialist won't work together and try to resolve this. Why can't he get you in next week?? Really ... how long are they going to let this go on for her? I'd be so mad!!!!!!!
Are you still keeping a poop diary and doing the food diet?? I'd keep everything going as long as possible so they don't send you back to step one after the first appointment. I feel so bad for Sarah & you!!!!
