  • I ended up having to take Connor and Ethan back into the doctor today. They still have the rotavirus (day 8 for Ethan, 6 for Connor) but now Connor has pink eye, and Ethan has strep (2nd time in a month). I'm getting in trouble for missing so much work, and I'm getting no sleep. The doctor was impressed that I've been able keep them well hydrated - not an easy task - and that somehow I've managed to keep from getting sick myself. I just don't know how much more of this I can take before I collapse.

  • I REALLY feel for you as Sean (my now 3 yr old) had the rotavirus when he was around 8 months old, from the daycare he used to be in. Well, I didn't know he had it, and his old pediatrician's office gave me wrong advice, and kept saying 'just keep giving him formula' well, he kept throwing it up, and quickly became dehydrated, ended up that he had to stay overnight in the hospital (worst thing I've ever been through) and I was so pissed at the dr's office - and obviously my kids go to a different dr's office. It was really tough, because I never knew if he'd keep the bottle down, so much throw up it was nasty.

I too missed a ton of work Sean's 1st year, he was sick SO often that the Monday after I went back to work (from Sean being hospitalized) my job let me go for being out of work so often. I wasn't surprised. That was in 2002 I believe, and I've been a sahm ever since.

I know it's really hard, especially when you have 2 kids that are sick. I can't say 'keep your chin up' because I know how bad it sucks to deal with illnesses. I can only say to try and keep yourself from getting sick. The worst is when you are sick and can't take care of yourself that well since you have children to take care of.
