  • from one of the parents of my Girl Scouts.

She wrote me a really nice note about how her daughter has grown and learned so much this past year in Brownies and how she appreciates how 'organized' I am. (I really had to snicker at organized... I always feel like I'm a disaster case)...
and then she told me that she sees so many similarities in me and my kids and her and hers (she has 4 kids, a 7 year old, a 5 year old severly autistic and a 3 year old autistic but not as severe as the older one and a baby that just turned 1)
and she tells me that she's fascinated with Sarah and loves watching her.
she tells me that Sarah does so many of the things that her autistic boys do.. the difference is that she is social (but I maintain that while she appears to be social, she's still socially stunted just in a different way).

And she told me that she thought I was a great mom and that while our kids may be more challenging than others, they also have more rewards....

that made me so happy to hear such a thoughtful thankyou.

sometimes I really wonder if I'm making even the slighest dent....

  • What a nice note and compliment!

It's always nice to hear that all the work you put in has had an impact on the girls.
