from the hospital.

so after I posted yesterday about being frustrated with a lack of info... they called me back and gave me a little info over the phone.

This morning (about 11:30) the hospital called me and wanted to see if we could come in some time between now and the surgery to go thru the pre-admittance forms and whatnot. (and if I couldn't go in, they could do it over the phone but then I'd miss out on the 'tour' )
So - - as it turns out - - today was a 1/2 day at school and we had nothing else planned for the afternoon (I was thinking about going to the zoo with the kids or something but I hadn't let them in on my plans )
So we scheduled the appointment with the hospital for 1pm to do the paperwork and get a tour of the facilities.
The paperwork is exhausting....
the tour was a whirlwind and I swear it left me feeling more confused than ever the woman raced us all over the hospital showing us every place we'd be... and I swear I didn't know which way was up by the end
The pediatric floor was nice. Sarah (and Andrew) was impressed with the toys and the colors etc. And I think that her getting a tour of the place and seeing that her room would have a TV and a place for us to sleep really eased her mind.
They gave goodie bags to both Sarah and Andrew - they had beanie babies in them and other hospital stuff (like medicine syringes and bandaids and name bracelets and gloves etc) and she went over all the contents so Sarah wouldn't be nervous about that stuff when she came into contact with it.

I still haven't received the stuff in the mail I was suposed to have gotten. but at least I know that the ball is still rolling and that our surgery is indeed scheduled and they've got my co-pay $ already

now all we have to do is wait...

At least the rest of the week and weekend will be fun-filled.
Friday is Halloween. Good times!
Saturday, our Girl Scout council is having a Girl Fest. I will be taking Sarah (just the 2 of us) to the convention center for the event/symposium.
Its got booths of all things girls. For girls by girls. They even have a stage that has acts going on all day including a little concert by Savannah Outen and the Clique Girlz!
I don't know who they are but most of the girls in my troop do (I guess they watch the Disney channel more than we do )

Then Sunday will be the only day we have to fill up with church and the getting ready stuff....

We're almost there!

whew..... glad you got to get through all of the hospital stuff... exhausting.... but better to get through it all upfront... sounds like a crazy weekend...

Sounds like the tour was a success and I bet it helped out Sarah a lot with what to expect. Monday is going to be here before you know it!!
