my baby brother is 16. He's the one that is the dancer and dances 6 hours a DAY at his school. (he goes to a special school... like the FAME school... )

Anyway, a while back, he got sick and my mom took him to the Dr and they did some tests and decided he had an 'asthmatic heart' . Whatever that is.

this past week, he went on a canoing trip with a guy and a bunch of boys.
he was mostly fine but on the 2nd to last day, they stopped early and got out and scurried up a hill quickly. ONce he got to the top, he started having heart pains. The kids gave him some skittles and he rested but was super weak and felt like he was drowning and like he couldn't catch his breath.
They had to paddle out the next day but he was so weak, he couldn't paddle and he just sat in the adults canoe while the adult did all the paddling for them.

he came home and told my mom he had a bad asthma attack and his heart hurt etc. she asked if he wanted to go to the Dr and he said yes. So she took him to urgent care. There, they did tests and decided he did NOT have a heart attack but that he did have an irregularly irregular heartbeat and that if it was their kid, they'd take him to the ER. So she did.
They did a few more tests and decided that he needed to be seen by a cardiologist right away.
So tomorrow he has an appointment with a cardiologist.

I'm not even slightly sure of what's going on. Not a clue.
But it is very scary that such a fit 16 year old can have such heart problems... whatever they are.

so I'm asking for prayers that they can find out exactly what's going on and that whatever it is.. is fixable.

oh karen, that is so sad... i hope they find out what is wrong with him... lots of prayers being said for him!

I hope they find the cause and come up with a simple soloution for him.

That is scary. I hope the Dr has some answers for your family and he's well again soon.

Keep us updated Karen. He seems to be very active and in good shape so hopefully that & being young will help his health issue.
