Thumbs down oh no!!! The kids are school are spoiling it!

yesterday, Sarah asked me the truth about Santa.

She is a definate believer. And she believes me and DH 100% if we tell her something.
But yesterday, she asked me if Santa was really real.

I of course told her Yes, of course. Why would you ask?
She then asked if Santa was really magic.
I said, of course.

She says "oh! I have to tell Jason when I get to school! He says that Santa isn't real and that the parents are the ones that put the presents under the tree".

I told her "it's okay if he doesn't believe in Santa. Some people don't and that's okay."
She says "yeah, he doesn't believe in Santa or Jesus or God even!"

I told her that it was okay for him to believe whatever he wanted to believe and there was no reason to argue about who was right.

The rest of the weekend was a bunch of questions... about how Santa could be so very old and still fly all over the world....
about a million other sensible questions to which she believed every single answer I gave her without a single doubt.
oh, she's so trusting of me!

But man, I could just STRANGLE Jason at school!
How dare he spill the beans!?!? Wasn't he told that he was supposed to keep the secret?

I hate when other kids spoil it, or try to, didn't jason's parents tell him it is a secert. Christian came home last year asking questions and my answer was well I guess santa wont be stoping at so and so's house then will he. but he hasn't asked yet this year and I am hoping he dosn't.
Glad Sarah trust her mommy.

Oh that stinks .. she's still so young..

I hope she continues to believe for at least a few more years.

I would hope that once a child doesn't believe the parents sit down and explain to that child that other kids may still believe and spoiling it for them isn't at all nice. That's how we handle it with nieces and nephews etc.

Jacob is figuring it out on his own- not sure if someone at school said something, but I told him the rule at our house is "if you don't believe, you don't receive." He changed his tune pretty quick after that.
