Talking Sarah loves the attention

she is being showered from people here there and everywhere with well-wishes and she's eating it up!
She didn't want to leave the hospital because she loved the attention. AND, she mostly loved the remote control for the TV and the button that called a nurse.
She was always trying to find a reason to call the nurse in.
I kept having to take the thing away from her and tell her over and over she couldn't just call the nurse in on every whim

She's gotten quite a few treats in the mail from folks at church. From the grandparents, from friends and neighbors...
Cards and even small gifts.
She got a prayer shawl, several stuffed animals, a few toys, coloring books, candy...
yet again today, she got yet another gift.
Today, one of the girl scout moms stopped by with a giant card that the rest of the troop made for her. (it was a giant piece of tagboard that they folded in 1/2 and decorated to the Nth) and all the girls in her troop signed it. And, she got balloons and a big ol' stuffed animal and a coloring book!

Today, she exclaimed that she loved all the gifts
yeah - who wouldn't??
So her pain is significantly eased by all the gifts she's been getting.

I'm keeping her on alternating tylenol and motrin which is helping but she's still super sore. So thankfully, the pain is preventing her from doing damage with excessive energy. She's content to just sit on the couch and color. Oh, and I bought her a new skein of yarn and she's finger knitting to her heart's content

Her back looks very painful. The cut is a + shape right at the center back of her waist. the whole area around it is swollen and it just looks pathetically sore.
We have to be careful with what pants she's wearing to try and not irritate it further. No baths for 2 weeks. (no shower for 1 week)
so its going to be a slow mend....
she is taking it like a real trooper, though!

Glad she's enjoying the attention and being a cooperative patient! Hope it keeps up and she's back to 100% asap!

Glad to hear she is feeling better. Nothing like a little attention to get your mind off the pain

How did I miss this post?!?!
I hope Sarah is feeling better & I'm sure she loved all the little extras from family and friends. How is she doing now??
ps
Very cool that your Scout Troop did that on their own with the card since you are the leader ... usually it's YOU who has to do it. Very cool they did it all on their own.
