Thumbs down so the appointment update is...

not what I wanted.

I took Sarah in for an x-ray an hour before the Urologist appt.
(both the kids were pretty pillish... Sarah needs her aDHD medication increased but I really don't want to do it thru the summer but the way she's acting,... I just can't handle it so I might have to cave early)

anyway -
so the impacted poop in her colon that we've been supposedly cleaning out the past month... is still impacted

Dr said that we have to get that cleaned out adn that now I have to give her glycerin suppositories and/or enemas for a few days, then do the rest of what I've been doing for a month to try and get the poop un-stuck.

And... then we'll see him in a month again for another x-ray.
But, since we'll be super busy in a month doing daycamp stuff, I got them to make the appointment a week earlier so I only have to wait 3 weeks instead of 4.

I almost started crying in the Drs office. But I took in a big breath.
What the Dr was telling me we had to do was suffer another week of pooped pants 2-3x a day while trying to clean her out

Sooo.... I went and bought a couple enemas, (I have some glycerine at home already), and I need to buy some more underpants, I think, because we really go thru the underpants and I just can't wash them fast enough. (and I have 3 dozen I think)
and I'm going to start today in the hopes that we can get things unclogged by Monday when she has to start VBS and she's not at home in my care.

... sigh....

Somehow, the Dr thinks that after the colon is unstuck, her pee issues will go away. I'm not so optimistic.

Poor girl, and poor mommy.

Hope it gets "unstuck" soon. They can't do anything there to move things along?

I'm sure you're not a fan of public emoting, but I think crying might have done you some good.

I feel so bad for both of you. And I agree with Qteach333, sometimes when drs see your frustruation they work with you more. It's been something that you have been going through for awhile now and I hope you get answers at the next appointment.

I wish there was something more they could do to get things moving. I agree that crying may have done you some good in this case.

Karen! I am so sorry it wasn't better news, or at least not news that made it a little easier for both of you.

The best advice I have (from dealing with all the specialists we saw with Jacob) KEEP Squeaking- the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Until you feel like you're getting a real answer, keep pushing and asking questions. For some reason, (some) doctors don't take people seriously the first few times, you just have to be persistent.
