Default Speaking of teeth....

Sarah had her 6 mos dental checkup last week and guess what?

The dentist wants us to get an orthodontic eval-yikes!

She doesn't have a whole lot of space in her mouth and he would rather us go now and they say wait 2 years rather than wait 2 years and they say "if only you came 2 years ago".

If her dentist is right, we're looking at $4-6k for orthodontia!

WHAT?!?!?!?!!??!?!!??!???!?!? HOLY CRAP!!!!
I got braces in 4th grade and again in 8th I think. I couldn't imagine getting them any younger but what could he do if their mouths are only so big??

On a funny note my neighbor (and Julia's gym teacher) was telling us stories of how they never had braces growing up and everyone had straight teeth in her family except her brother. They tied dental floss around their two front teeth ones and pushed them back if they were bucked. She does have straight front teeth I might add but I never heard of that before. Her brother has a gap in his teeth and she said it was because he refused to do the dental floss thing.

I guess I better go get a part time job soon then. Kaitlyn has no teeth and Julia has a ton of space and I'm sure hers will be bucked by the time everything comes in.

HOLY CRAP! 7 and braces?!

I started seeing the ortho young, but didn't get braces until HS. (like the day before I started 9th grade). I had 6 teeth removed when I was in 4th grade or so, then 8 teeth in 6th grade. (the big, put you to sleep surgery kind).

Hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
