Question "Teenage Drama Queen" at 5....

please tell me I'm not the only one.

Taylor's been really having the attitude lately. She's expectionally bad in the evenings when my attention is focused on Hailey and her fussy time. We've really had to get on her about attitude, whay she says to us as she dramatically flounces to her room, and how she's been talking back.

We know it's definitely part of Taylor adjusting to not being the only kid in the house. She's also having trouble getting back into our weekly routine of Tuesday night church, gymnastics on Wednesday (which she had yet to go back) and Sunday school, as well as having days where she doesn't want to leave me to go to Kindy either.

Bless your heart! We had a lot of talking back recently, too, but it seems to have gotten better lately.

I do think they have a hard time adjusting to change, and it sounds like she's testing ya'll.

Hang tough!! It WILL get better...

You are not alone.

Hannah has been the same way, the back talking is getting bad, but we are doing what we can to fix it.

even my boy is drama sometimes i think so much has to do with their emotions-- they are finally able toput what they feel into words (for the most part)! and they sure are trying that out

Julia is emotional, too. Cries at the drop of a hat (and it bugs her I don't give into her ways either). She was talking back last month and it has stopped which is good news. She's in Daisy Scouts and they were talking about respecting authority to earn a petal and it was perfect timing. That along with time outs seemed to work. We also brought naps back into the mix, too. Not every day but about every 2 days she has to take a nap and she still goes to bed at 9 and wakes up at 7. The nap seems to help with the emotions and she's a different person when she wakes up from them.
Good luck!! I'm sure it has to do with adjusting to the baby, too. That's just natural.
