well...long story short, i guess last night was my last night on the road until after this baby is born.

my partner arrested a not so nice gentleman from a call that the sheriff's dept put out...he had robbed a In N Out and was on the freeway giving chase...all freeway chases/etc have to be turned over to us and so, once we (half of my dept) managed to pit this guy to a stop, had a hell of a time getting him handcuffed. I did not participate in this part. this guy manages to get his legs undone and once i opened up the car door to get him out, kicks at me and hits me square in the knee cap. he spat at the intake officers and at my partner as well. come to find out not only is this guy hopped up on PCP, he also is positive for Hep B. i knew he was either on something or mentally disturbed because the entire ride to the jail he kept talking about how he could smell my organs

this stuff doesnt bother me, but i was nauseous as it is and all it did was really, REALLY piss me off.

i am fine and all i have is bruising and some swelling. this is exactly what my OB was afraid of. i feel a little ashamed that i went this long, but i am taking myself off and on desk duty until i hear back from the brass about a position i filed for. many people think that state troopers/police are all roads and codes, but ever since two years ago we have teamed up with the sheriff's dept in domestics, buglary calls, homicides, etc. at times like this, i wish all i had to do was take crashes and give tickets. when i am not pg, i want to be all in the mix and craziness that is police work..but when i am..i wish i had become a nurse or teacher..... oh well, i came home this morning and that is all that counts!!

I'm sorry you were injured but very happy to hear that you're not banged up too badly. I hope you get to take it easy for the next few months until that baby is born.
