Default Leave of Absence benefits

I did check and what will happen if the Dr takes me out of work. The 1st 7 days I am out I will have to use sick time which I rarely use anyway. After that 100% of my pay that is funded by short term disability for up to 8 weeks (Shelby will be here by then). After she is born, my maternity leave kicks in for 8 weeks paid at 100% and then I am adding 2 weeks vacation at the end of it for 10 weeks. Still debating 2 weeks unpaid for a total of 12. Just thought I would share. I am getting the temp in here that is filling in on Monday so I know that someone can fill in for me if I go out early. I still hope I don't have too but it is nice knowing what will happen if I do and that everything is taken care of.

Wow, Jennifer that sounds great!!!! My work doesn't give us maternity leave, we have to use a vac & sick days and short term dis. Right now I have about 5 weeks saved up for my time. My short term only pays like 60% of my norm pay.

It's nice to have a plan in place

Yours sounds great..

I get a week before delivery.. paid.. and then I get 8 weeks (8 for c-section and 6 for vaginal) at 100% and then the next 4 at 80%

We are a very small company (9 of us total) I was the 1st one to ever leave on maternity leave..

It's a great setup for me.

sounds like all the planning for everyone is coming along.
You are all going to hate me, when I tell you whats happening here. I am in Canada, so we have 1 year maternity leave (yes, 1 year). It is not 100% pay, however it works out to about 1400/month. Plus, because I work for a hospital, I get a top up for the first 6 months, to my full salary.
