Default 2 year old daughter hates me

Hello everyone,

As the title says, my two year old daughter hates me. Well, she doesn't really hate me, but she prefers to be around her mom and our nanny more than me. If her mom is holding her, and I try to give her a hug or kiss, she will push me away. The only time that she lets me hold her is when we are in public and she's nervous about the strangers.

This is the complete opposite of our 8 month old boy who absolutely adores me.

I was just wondering if any dads went through the same thing, and if so, how did you cope?
