Default Another b-day party question

How is the turnout for the "friend" parties in your area? Our turnout has been horrible!!
Josh has a class of 21 kids and I think 3 or 4 came to his party. I thought maybe it was him/us but the couple parties he's been invited to have had the same sucky turnout. What I really can't get over is that the ppl don't even bother to rsvp that they aren't coming. I decided that this year we are going to do a joint party in like late Feb/Early march and invite both kids friends.

Some years great turn out others not. The RSVP thing makes me crazy though. People just don't care anymore.

I think one thing that happens with the turnout is when the party is planned even though you personally don't have activities if you look around and talk to others certain times of the year the weekends are filled with sports activites and holiday stuff. Seems most parties that are successful around here are spend the night parties that are just a handful of best friends.

I think Susan is right. If there is a game, big concert or anything like that it affects turnout.

I've been overly paranoid about this and we go and invite EVERYONE and then darn near EVERYONE shows up. LOL!

One girl in Milo's class had her party the same night as the U2 concert and there were only 10 of the 20 kids she invited that could go. Their parents all made plans to go to the concert instead.

Most people don't RSVP and it ticks me off. One lady RSVP'd the day of Ili's party via phone, but we never got the message and she never brought her son. I don't talk with her, but I'm all worried now that she is ticked with us or something.

I don't get how hard it is to leave a message, or drop an email as to whether or not your kid can go??? Geesh!

Yeah that really ticks me off , I know phoning is a lot harder to do at times but I put my email on there to make it easy to do any time of the day or night.

Exactly-- I always put my e-mail because that's how I prefer to respond. No reason you can't type "Not coming" and hit send, lol.
