How would you word it on the invite that it is not a drop off party? I am only having a small playdate for 5-6 of dd's friends for her birthday, it will be at the end of her family party so her cousins can stay for that part too.
This is what I have for the invite so far...

Ummm I always stayed for parties when my kids were that young and I don't think I had any unattended guests.

Maybe just put "Parents are welcome to stay."

If it's only an hour, I think parents will assume they're intended to stay. Even if they live 10 minutes away, they could barely put away a load of laundry before they had to turn around and come back.

Our friend party for Marek (5) was two hours, and I put "Parents are welcome" on the invitation to make it clear that I wasn't inviting siblings. Parents assumed they were to stay, but I gave them the option to leave if they wanted, and they all did leave (most seemed surprised that I didn't mind).

I've never had a parent leave their kid at a bday party. What you have sounds great though!
