Question Chiropractor

I've been going to the chiropractor (my back and neck have been hurting and I've been getting migrains like crazy) and today he was saying his wife sees mostly women and babies. Has anyone taken their baby to the chiropractor? He was also saying that chiro care for babies can help a LOT of different ailments (gas, acid reflux, asthma, allergies, etc) Douglas (my 7 yr old) has asthma and the baby (5 months) has a milk protein sensitivity so I'm wondering how much chiropractic care might help. Our insurance covers it, so that's not an issue, I just want to make the right decision for my kiddos

Ok, I am a chiropractor phobic. When DH had his brain stem stroke, the neurologist and specialist said it was due to a clot caused by his own self-manipulation of his neck(popping his neck) that pinched his verterbral(sp?) artery. This is the same thing alot of chiropractors do.

The reputable, good ones take xrays and figure out where the issue is and fix it with proper alignment techniques and massage.

The ones that are the bane of neurologists and neuro surgeons do a snap and crack without any clue where the real problems lies and 9 times out of 10 make it worse.

I would talk seriously to your peditrician about your concerns about the kids issues and the claims your chiroprator has made and see if there is any buzz , or better yet documentation that supports those claims.

I hope this helps.

I think a good chiro can help with neck/back pain but I do not believe anything they say about it being able to help other things like colic and asthma.

this is just my opinion- I think Chiro's are good at the neck and back pain too, but I think their saying it can help anything else is quackery. I really would think twice before having a little spine adjusted by a chiro unless they were having a problem.
