Default Electronic pet door?

I want a door that will keep out critters but let my dogs in. Does anybody have one and does it work properly? I looked on Amazon and they didn't get many good reviews.

My parents have one and it has worked really well for them. Their dogs (and cats when they had them) wear magnets around their necks that activate the door (originally their cat didn't have one because they wanted him to stay in, but he would go over by the door and meow and the dog would come over, activate the door, and then the cat would be stuck outside lol). They are pretty pricey- I think they paid $600 or so, but it has lasted a long time. I think they had to have the motor replaced once, but it has been like15 years. Occasionally it will open by itself because of a garage door opener or something, but other than that it works really well. You do have to have a huge hole cut out of your wall though because it is a built in door (not one you can put in your patio door). They are here in SoCal if you want me to find out the company that they got it through.

Wow that is much more $$ than I expected. Thanks for the offer to research it but I doubt I'd spend that much. Also I don't know if I have wall space for it so unless I also spent the money to replace a french door I don't know where I'd put it.

Yeah- very expensive and you have to put a hole in your wall! We actually have a door that we put in the wall, and love it, but I definitely understand not wanting to do that. They may have others that aren't as expensive and that can go in a slider or something.
