Default Ever own a pig?

DH wants a pig. He heard they will eat snakes. We live on the edge of civilization so we do get snakes occasionally. I'm not worried about my girls because they don't go digging under bushes, but my dogs are dumb enough to decide a snake is a play toy & get bit.

S0...anyboy have experience with pigs? Potbellied or otherwise?

My FIL had a potbellied pig. Sorry, but it was so gross. I would never want one. He had it for years but it kept getting out and going on the neighbor's land and they threatened to shoot it b/c it was tearing up their yard/garden so he gave it away.

From what I've read pigs are as smart or smarter than most dogs and can be housebroken. Not that I want a pig inside, but like dogs they can be trained to do their business in a certain area.

I'm not into owning animals, I think it would be ok if you had a very large property where it wouldn't affect your neighbors and had lots of room to roam around. I think pigs are cute, but it's not for me

I"ve also heard they are pretty smart. I'd get a little one if I had the room for it to be an "outside" pet.
