Question Frozen meat

Does anyone know if you have hamburger meat that was frozen and then defrosted but plans changed and you did not eat it that night, how many days it can stay defrosted in the fridge before you cook it to eat?

Hope that made sense!

This happens to me a lot and I always make sure I find a way to cook it the very next night. Even if the dish gets cooked and then put away to eat another time, I don't want to leave the defrosted meat in the fridge longer than 24 hours. Not sure what the actual Food & Drug people would say.

I would cook it right away. Bacteria begin to grow as soon as it is thawed.

Don't panic unless you left it on the counter or something to thaw it's fine. Bacteria will not grow on it and kill you if that was true then all meat in the super market would kill you. It's Ok to leave it out for a couple of days in the fridge then use it.

I think it depends on how long it was in the fridge before it was frozen. If it was frozen right away it is are ok for a few days at least.
