Have you ever had mono?

  • Have you ever had mono? I think I might have mono. My throat started hurting just over a week ago and I assumed I'd be getting a head cold, as is usually the case when my throat starts hurting.

I'm a week or more in and no head cold but I'm EXHAUSTED (like when I'm pregnant but AF is here so that's not a possiblity

), my throat hurts like crazy, there are white things popping up back in there, and I'm having night sweats.

I've had strep throat enough times to know that this feels different. I haven't been smooching up anyone other than my husband

but I read that adutls can get it from sneezes, coughs, etc. Maybe I got it from a shopping cart (someone sneezed into their hand and then touched the cart (even though I'm pretty meticulous about cleaning the carts

) or from door handles or elevator buttons or something????

All is know is I've barely been off the couch this weekend and I don't feel like there's an end in sight.

I'm going to call the doc tomorrow and see what's up.

Anyone ever had mono? Did you have anything like this? Help!

  • I have never had mono so I have no idea of the signs or symptoms, but if I were you I'd be waiting at the urgent care door when they opened tomorrow because that sounds yucky.

  • I also have never had mono but yes I also agree I would see a doctor as soon as possible.

  • Also I hope you get to feeling better.

  • I'm seeing my doc today at 1:45. If I'd gone to Urgent Care, they'd have probably requested that I see my doctor anyway so I figured I'd wait until today. I thought it would have been crowded yesterday because of the holiday so I decided to wait until today to get in with my regular doctor. Unfortunately there weren't any AM appointments when I'm child-free so I'll have to take Alex with me to the doc (womp, womp) but hopefully she'll be able to figure out what the HECK is going on here.

I'll be sure to let you know...if I have enough energy to post later.
