Default How do you get motivated?

I have a dozen things I have to get done today and I can't seem to get my butt moving! I'm lucky to be able to work from home but there is nobody here to keep me on track.

How do you motivate yourself to work when you don't feel like it?

I would struggle majorly working from home most days. Not because I would do nothing but I'd be more concerned with cooking meals, cleaning my house , washing clothes, running errands than I ever would about actually doing work.

Those things give me a reason to get up from my desk and stretch but since I don't like housekeeping it doesn't distract me.

It just almost hurts my eyes to look at what I need to look at!

I usually threaten myself. LOL! If I don't do such and such by this time, no dinner or no time for a shower, or whatever might get me moving.

The harder and more non-preferred the task, the more motivation I need.

Right now I am really needing to motivate myself to get on this IEP business with my son. I have to find an educational advocate for him as well as research and read a ton of books so I'm more knowledgeable on the subject. I just don't want to. LOL! I'm so beat down with having so much extra to do just because my kids have special needs. No excuse, I need to just do it, but it isn't always easy to do what we know we have to when we have to. At least not for me.

Today, I'm threatening myself with no ice cream for a week. That would be the end of me. The more stress I have, the more I need my nightly scoop/cone. :-) So if I don't get some reading done and make some phone calls today.....no tasty treat for a week.
