I think you did great. I would have done the exact same thing, even at 10. I think if pressed I would have said, he had "inappropriate relationships" with them. Maybe I would have followed up with "Well you know, it would make you feel uncomfortable if your teacher started acting more like your mom-- having you over to her house every day, wanting to pick out your clothes, wanting to control who your friends were. It's like that, but on a worse level."
