Has anyone ever used one of those light boxes during the winter months? I am trying to find an effective way to get out of my "I hate winter" blahs.

They sound interesting, but I'm wondering how much they really help and how much is just hooey.

I hate to waste the money on an "ugly lamp". LOL! If it really helps it will be well worth it, but if it turns out to be a box with a bulb that I wasted $$$ on, I'll need more than light therapy.

some people use tanning beds for that. they get a high from the warmth and light .. my cousin is one of those people..

I get the winter blahs and make a big effort to sit outside in the sunshine as much as possible.

Also, my south windows are uncovered and it lets a lot of sunlight into the house.

one thing you mentioned was painting the dark chocolate color. If you really don't like winter I would highly suggest if you paint you should chose light colors not anything *warm or dark*, more greens, grey's, beige will give the rooms more open feel and brighten them up.

Here's the one I was looking at.

We just don't get a lot of sun period. The way our house is situated when it is sunny it hits mostly our covered little porch and doesn't come directly into the house. Our bedroom has skylights and is YELLOW so that helps, but laying in bed isn't good for getting me moving. LOL!
