  • K.. here is the results of one of my attempts. I wish I could just cut and stretch the one hand on a new canvas because I really only want one hand print.

  • I like karen's idea of doing it in there sleep

What about cutting it out and framing it with another color what are your plans with it and maybe we can shoot some ideas your way.
Thank you MImom23!

  • Another tip... I guess I should have mentioned this in my earlier post... I either:
    A) strip little ones to their diaper when doing a messy project or
    B) put a smock on them (our "smocks" are Dh's old t-shirts

    !)
You could put on a smock too if you seem to be getting splattered!!

I'd also be careful with the paint you're using... even "KIDS WASHABLE PAINT" can sometimes stain... I always add a squeeze of hand soap to THAT paint before I start (makes it wash easier).

I'd let her do some fingerpainting with no handprint attempts until she gets comfortable again!! If you join in too, she might get used to it faster!!

Thank you Heidi1361!

  • no, poster paint is not 'archival'.
you're going to have problems finding archival stuff that doesn't create a big mess....
Thank you skyqueen!

  • Well we got a kit that was a t-shirt that said "World's Best Grandpa Hands Down" and it came with red, blue and yellow paint. Well I just put the paint on a paper plate and SOMEHOW managed to get a great handprint of a 1 yo, 2 1/2 yo, 3 1/2 yo, 4 1/2 yo & 6 yo. Like I said, I put it on the plate, smeared their hand on it, checked to see if their hand was covered and pressed. I did press their hand down myself and pressed each finger ect. Personally I think it wad devine intervention.

Thank you Pumkin!
