Default penicillin substitute for an infected tooth??

i have a wisdom tooth that is infected for the second time this month. i had penicillin prescribed by the dr. the first time, and it made me feel like i was super drunk or something to that affect. i stopped taking the penicillin after 5 days, and at that time, it had cleared up the infection anyway...buttt now it's back, and i am in the middle of a trillion things and i do not have time to get it looked at by a dentist, norrr do i have time to feel tipsy for 10 days while i take penicillin again...is there any substitute that anyone knows of that i can look for instead???

I posted on the other thread but I'd seek treatment.
