Default Is it possible to carry too low?

I am nearly 27 weeks and am carrying my son very low. This is my second child, so I realize he wouldnt be as high as the last one but he still seems super low. The doctor really hasn't said anything, just that he is growing well and is about the right size for gestational age. I have gained nearly 30 lbs already, but i started out quite a bit underweight. He's a mover and it makes things quite interesting when he kicks no matter how i try to adjust my waistband. Any thoughts? When i had my ultrasound he was head down, as long as he is that way when its time for him to come out, as I hope to avoid another c-section. Will his being this low make things go faster or cause problems? I go in again on Jan. 13 but just trying to find info before then. other than that pregnancy has gone well.

Well, I'm not sure if your baby is "too low", but I can say from experience my 2nd pregnancy was physically different than my 1st. I did feel like I was carrying him differently. Especially near the end, I felt like he had "dropped", but in reality he hadn't. My doc checked me and towards the VERY end they said he was in position and I dialated a teeny bit.

I got stretch marks with my son when I never did with my daughter, I gained more weight the 1st time, then I did the 2nd, I think I peed more the 2nd time and walked funny if my bladder was too full b/c it felt like he was right on my bladder, and I slept very little, even worse than the 1st time.....not every pregnancy will be the same.

I hope you have a Happy New Year and Congrats!

Hi Kit,
I think your doctor would tell you if there was a problem with carrying too low but mention it at your next appt. I also looked different with both of my pregnancies. With my 1st I looked typically wide & pregnant but with my 2nd I just had a round ball in front. I didn't look pregnant from the back for a long time.
I think it probably just depends where inplantation occurred in your uterus and the direction the baby is laying in there.
