  • Has anyone had this surgery or know someone who has? Dh had this done on Tuesday last week & he was gonna try to go back to work today, but he still feeling dizzy/queasy & couldn't do it. My dad (whose had many surgeries) said it's probably from the anthesia; that the 1st time he was put under he felt like that for about 3 weeks! I feel so bad for Dh and also worried about him using all his vacation time for this. He said he gonna talk to his work about short term disability. Anyone esle have any experience with this?

  • Never heard of Septoplasty but I've heard the same thing about anestesia and thats why you aren't supposed to drive for a period after surgeries.

Have your DH try a pill for motion sickness & see if that helps. Even tho he isn't getting motion sickness it aleviates the same symptoms.

    Hope he feels better soon!

  • I haven't had septoplasty...but I have had a palatectomy and some tissue repair in my nose...amongst other surgeries (most recently gastric bypass). He should not drive for 2 weeks after surgery especially if he is light headed. I'm sure his doc will be more than happy to provide a work excuse. He should also mention to his surgeon that he's dizzy.

  • Thanks ladies! He did mention this to the surgeon; he actually had his 1st f/u appt yesterday. All they have said is all of what he is feeling is normal. He said he was feeling pretty good yesterday morning, but after the appt, he started feeling bad again.

  • It takes time to heal. I hope he's feeling better soon. Right now he just needs to rest and not push himself to do too much. *hugs*
