IA with Jeanne.
And I would definitely speak with the teachers. There's no way I'd want my child in that type of enviroment.

I did speak to the director- she said they are not allowed to spank, no matter what. I told her some of my other concerns and she said stuff like it was the age they are at and a lot of girls play copy-cat like that, but overexagerrate. She also said she would speak to the teachers about it, but of course would not say who it was that brought this to her attention.

So yesterday she tells me that when she spoke to the teachers, she found out there are a few parents that threaten their kids with spankings when they pick them up and they received a bad report that day. There is even one mom who leaves a BELT in the child's cubby and has warned him, in front of the other kids & teachers, that if he has a bad day he will get the belt when he gets home. And when does have a bad day, the mom takes the belt home and then brings it back the next day. Apparently this is the only thing that works as a disciplinary action for their son. The director didn't like it and said she was going to speak to the mom b/c it is rubbing off on the other kids.

While it was not the full-on "your teachers just seem to yell at the kids all day" confession I wanted to make, at least something was brought to the teachers attention and maybe they will be more aware of how they act in class. Because the little ears & eyes catch everything!

I am horrified about the belt thing. I can't imagine as a child how I would feel knowing that, and I don't mean being that child -- I mean being a kid in that child's class. I'd probably cry every night the kid had a bad day, and wonder what was happening to him at home, even at age 3. I'm not someone who is 100% against a spanking either (not a BEATING, but a spanking) --- but that belt in the cubby thing turns my stomach!
