  • no way, DH won't even let Eli go in the front yard that way

Shoes either, if we go in the car, must have shoes, (even though it lead to a collasal meltdown as it did this morning

) I understand about accidents happening, but I don't think "accident" when the whole family is dressed like that.

this makes me sound bad doesn't it???

  • Noooooo.... well... Andre was born in May, and that summer (when he was an infant) I don't think I put shoes/socks on him too much... but he certainly wasn't walking anywhere either!!

I can't recall EVER taking my kids ANYWHERE in just a diaper or diaper/t-shirt.

And you CAN'T let your kids walk around in public barefoot... that's gross AND really dangerous. People throw cigarettes on the ground... there's broken glass... there's biting insects... there's various discusting "liquids"... YUCK.

  • I guess I didn't mean really little kids when i said "barefoot." I meant walking children. Matthew hated shoes so he just recently started wearing them. He's always worn socks though (even though he learned to pull them off at a young age).

I feel better now. My kids always have at least a onesie on-- usually with shorts over top (or pants for most of the year!). Even though I live in Ohio I still see barefoot kids from time to time. My kids dont run around even at home with just a diaper on, but I know that's weird.

  • barefoot walking kids in public spaces is such a safety issue!

I feel like going so far as calling CPS on people who don't take care of their kids like that.

  • oh yes barefoot is a safety issue and just plain nasty if your kid is walking around in public unless your in your yard or something like the beach but even then my kids wear crocs b/c they hate bugs and are scared they might step on them! when my boys were infants they had the cutest little sneakers so they almost always had them on !
