My BF's daughter (now 12yo) has dysgraphia.

Her handwriting was atrocious (and STILL isn't that fantastic... but it's readable now)... she had a REALLLY hard time spellling... and she was very disorganized.

She had an IEP for years. She's actually doing GREAT now and will probably come off of her IEP this year.

BTW... her READING level has always been pretty high... which tipped mom off as to "Hmmm... somethings not right!!" Her reading level was about 2yrs above where she should have been... but her writing was about 2yrs below where she should have been!!

Get him tested... there really isn't a big stigma attached to a kid needing a little help anymore!! And you (and he) can get some answers & go from there.

*edited to say... I wrote "BF" for "best friend"... not for "boy friend"...
... I just re-read that & said OOOOOoooopppss!!

I will talk to the teacher/ school and see what we need to do to get him tested and on an IEP, He is also due for his yearly DR appointment so I will check with them too.
