How does your child/ren treat their toys??? My boys have so many toys that they dont care for them like they should. Half the time they end up broke or lost. I think this weekend we are going to go through and get rid of LOTS of toys!!! Another quesion, what should I do with them? Some still look brand new because once they get them they dont play with them any more or whatever. I know its almost Christmas time and another child would prob love some of these. Maybe I could put an ad on Craigslist? What do you think?

*Part of the problem here is my MIL wont stop buying toys!!! She buys toys like we buy groceries. Not all of them are new, she loves to yard sale. She thinks since she wasnt able to give her own kids a boat load of toys, then she needs to make up for it with her grandchildren. Get this, for example, Parkers birthday was in Sept, she bought him stuff and also my other two. If its one of their birthdays they all get something. I do not like this at all!!! Birthdays are supposed to be special for that one person. I have told her this and she still does it. But I have a hard time complaining though because she also buys their school clothes too. I love that part lol. She just likes to give to them.

I know what you mean! My girls have so much and every toy commercial my 5 yr old sees, she wants. She has no prob giving away some of her old ones to have new ones. I prob shouldve given it more thought and tried to sell and get some money for Xmas gifts, but I just dont have the time right now. Maybe after the new toys come then I might try to get rid of some. Whats annoying is she doesnt want to play w/ things b/c "theyre old". She wants a kitchen and I told her she already has one and she tells me "but its old". :O

Let me answer it this way: I feel I'm justified enough to throw all his toys out. LOL

Danielle my boys do that too when they see a commercial. "Mom, I want that" Ugh I will be cleaning out the closets and basement today for sure!!!

I get that too. Commercialism at its best. Perhaps I'll just let him watch the History Channel from now on.
