• So I was just paying my water/sewer bill (it was due yesterday, oops)... and this always crosses my mind when I do so...

I make the check out to "Town Of ______", but the envelope has a PO box address in A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TOWN?!?! And it's not even a town that's all that close??
"Town Of (my town)
PO Box 360
(different town), MA
zip code"

I'm pretty sure this is the case when we pay our excise taxes too... just weird.
Maybe it's that our town hires out a company or something to process the bills/checks. I guess it's just something that they don't want to/don't have time to/don't have the man-power to deal with??

• some towns supply water to other that's why you may pay another town We have our own water but we supply to other towns so i'm guessing those people pay our township

• Well... I know we have our own processing plant... and a couple BIG water towers... so I'm pretty sure we supply our own water... I could be wrong though.

• Lots of companies have payments go to a processing center instead of handling it themselves.
