Default Why do you like Facebook?

I check in once in a while but it doesn't hold my interest. I really don't care who is "friends" with who and if so-and-so was at whatever event or "likes" some store. I'd much rather communicate with ppl in a forum like this or thru emails.

So do you use it and why? What is on your wall?

My entire extended family and many of my lifelong friends live in southern California. I would have no idea what was going on in anyone's life without fB. I don't have time to call 30+ people on a monthly basis to keep in touch. This way, I can look at pictures of what they're doing, comment and have a short online conversation with them. I also know what's going on with my teen- and 20-something nieces and nephews. I can comment or not, but I feel like I'm in touch even though I'm 2,000 miles away.

I can also post pictures of what I'm doing with the kids, and family and friends can keep up with us.

I can see it would be lame if the only people I had as friends were close by and people I saw regularly. In my case, I would be quite isolated without it.

I'm with Rudi. It is mostly to keep up with my friends and family that live far away. Sadly with our schedules we don't even get to see our close friends often any more. Last night in fact I got an instant message type thing on FB. My childhood friend (who lives a few streets from us) actually messaged me on FB to let me know that Milo left our mini-van lights on. LOL! She didn't want us to end up with a dead battery.

I mostly keep in touch with TBC friends, old high school and college friends and extended family. I also have a few friends that I've met on online support groups for various things like DS's Asperger's, DD's Tourette's etc...
