At first I enjoyed finding all my old friends. I'm friends with old friends, new friends, and family members. I agree that it's a great way to keep in touch with people, but lately I have been quite bothered by FB. It seems like the people I really want to hear from aren't posting, so the only updates I see are from people complaining about politics, the changes to FB, etc. I also found that I was on it all the time whether there were any new updates or not (kinda like an addiction). I ended up taking a FB break on Sept. 24 and haven't been back since. Sometimes I think about going back, but then I remember why I took a break in the first place. I have a friend who checks her account once a week - perhaps if I did something like that, it wouldn't be so frustrating. I would also like to find a way to only see posts from certain people (weed out the complainers) - is that even possible?

Yes, you can remove them from your live feed. Then you can't see them.

To do this, click on the X to the right of one of their posts. It'll give you the option to hide just that post or all posts by that person. This has saved my sanity.

I used to like it more when I first started, but lately the people I actually want to keep in touch with either are never on or I can't even see their wall posts b/c it's full of all the junk like people posting links to music they like, or a video they think is funny, etc. And especially with the new format, I'm not seeing any of the stuff I want to. Like tonight I only saw posts from today and it wouldn't go any further...but I know their are photos from Dh's cousin's wedding (that was yesterday) that another family member posted, but they didn't show up. And since I don't check it everyday, I miss stuff.

And then the people from my past that I want to find are not even members..or if they are I cannot find them.

But other than, a lot of mine & Dh's family live in different states & it is nice to be able to keep up with each other's lives. His family is trying to convince his mom to join the bandwagon now. She seems to be the only one who hasn't; even my parents are on!
