Default WTF don't people put tags on dogs?!?!?!?!!!!!!

My neighbors were babysitting a dog that got out. Its a small shaved snausher (sp?) We have miles of empty fields full of coyotes and holes and its been in the low 30's at night.

Luckily somebody found it & turned it into the pound.

But why why why don't people put tags on dogs???

I often ask myself the same thing. They don't cost very much at all.
We even have a second set of tags for my dog that mave mil's address since they watch him when we go away.

I don't know either. MY BIL's little jack russell terrirer does not where a collar at home, therefore no tags either. My dog has hers on ALL the time. Only time it's not is for bath's and then we wash the collar too and let it air dry overnight-while she is bed with us.

Our dogs do not wear collars in the house. The vet told us not to put them on them in the house especially the Yorkies because their necks are so skinny... our dogs would just pull each other around by the collars if we left them on...

I still don't get it. If you discipline the dogs when they pull eachother around they will stop eventually - same as teaching them not to bite or pee in the house.

What if you had an earthquake/hurricane/tornado/fire (pick one) and the walls came down & the dogs got loose? Even if the dog has a microchip it can't be read unless somebody takes it to a vet or pound & that can't be done at night.
