I believe a circumsion is the best way to go, in any situation.

We chose not to circ our son...I ultimately left it up to my DH and he decided that it wasn't necessary and we just couldn't do it. Like Susan, we also did alot of research and talking to our doctor (also none of my nephews are). You are the one who is going to have to talk about it to your older DS and answer his questions if he asks.

Congratulations on your little boy

Congrats on your BLUE news!!

I don't know what I'd do in your situation.

We have two girls so far so I haven't faced that decision. I can see both sides of the argument.

Whatever you decide will be the right thing because you're the mama!!

CONGRATS!!

I had both of my boys circ. mostly because their father is!!

A lot of people DON'T circ. and a lot of people DO.... I don't think it'll be too big of an issue either way... but it's your decision!!

We have two boys and neither one was circ'd. DH was adament that no one do a optional surgery to remove something from our boys without their consent. So...

I got lots of resisitance from family -- things like, "just do it" and "everyone does". It was ugly and I ultimately had to do lots of research and talk to my doctor. I'd be happy to share what I learned in a PM, but don't want to turn this into a he said/she said debate thread.

Ultimately, do the research, talk to your OB (who does the surgery) and the pediatrician about both situations for penis care and make a decision that works for your family. Then, dont' let people get to you about whatever decision you make.

Congrats!! Boys are great!!
