I'm not really all that keen on the thought of the ashes as still being the person and to me, having her creameted was enough for the honoring of her wishes. What to do with the ashes is all about me and how *I* want to have her remembered.
If your grandma was such a persnickety person, then perhaps she deserves her ashes stuck in 'limbo' so to speak.
I can't imagine a cold urn to be any better than sprinkled on the ground

I'd take her to the tropics and bury her ashes.
(or what I'd do personally, is hire an airplane service to scatter ashes from the air
