dh would go ALL Griswald on me if i let him.

He has already got his rain ticket for one of those obnoxiously big inflatable santa and reindeer from Kmart. He's the kind of guy that will begin to set up lights outside at 7am and not come back in until midnight....all along cussing outside because he missed a bulb or calling one of his friends over to "try out an idea." i can only imagine our PG&E bill this year.

I think the white just look classic not elegant and my tree has always been a source of pride. I have a smaller tree upstairs in the playroom that the kids decorate with the colored lights and they can make those blink or whatever they want but when I sit down at night I don't want to see some blinky tree in my room.

I love Christmas and my pride and joy is my Christmas village that I spend hours setting up. I also do not use anything but regular strands of white lights and I wrap all the banisters outside put them in my big bushes and even out by the pool I wrap a couple of palm trees. To each their own. I love looking at all the Christmas lights everyone puts up but I personally don't want to put them up at my house.

We do white lights inside and they don't blink/twinkle. Flashing lights like that are a migraine trigger for me too.

Outside-until last year we had the old school big C-9 bulbs on the roof line. DH tossed them and we're going to do something different this year.

(I might call one of the Christmas Light people and see how much they charge to put them up and take them down.

Oh now the inflatable Santa--- I've managed to keep those out of the yard for now. It's only a matter of time before one of the kids wants that and DH is bugging me for it-- those and the ones where it's a snowglobe with real, or fake rather, "snow" blowing around. Our street is heavy into the holidays so lots of the people have those. I do think those are a tad tacky but I figure the kids are only little for so long.

I never realized people had such strong opinions on these things.

I love twinkly white lights on a tree! We have a fake tree that came with solid white lights. I wish they would twinkle.

They have to twinkle though, not just flash on and off.

I guess I'm trashy LOL!
