We have always had a fake one since Michael was born due to living in an apartment and then living in a very small house. This year, we are buying real (im trying to block out thoughts of my carpets being ruined) and plan on getting a 12ft one. Dont ask me how we plan on decorating it, ill be too pregnant to do any of that. I think after dh wrangles in a 12ft tree, he will rethink this size issue next year.

I have no idea what type of tree to get. I hear terms like Douglas Fir and Noble and I draw a blank.

Flocked means the ones that come with fake snow "sprayed" on them. Thats another thing dh wants...i dont want it. i can only imagine how messy that is.

we have a tree skirt that was bought at target, but i was thinking of ordering a personalized one when i order the stockings. i think it says the family name on it..wondered if anyone else has something like that and what they think of it.

Real or fake? Fake..we had a real one up to a few years ago, but I would stop watering it after Xmas and twice in a week the tree fell down, so we do the fake one that spins.

What height do you normally buy? If you have a fake one, how tall is it? Almost 8 ft(whatever is the norm for the height of a room)

What type of tree? Hmmm...a fake one...IDK what type! LOL

Whether you have a real or a fake one, is it flocked? No

Do you have a special/passed down tree skirt? No...actually my g/f(k's godmother) gave me a big skirt that actually is big enough for the tree!

Ok, so no, ours is not flocked. We did use the fake snow ourselves one year but yes, it was very messy.

I think you will rethink the 12 ft. tree. We certainly did

We had to get TWO ladders and litterally toss the lights to the other person and TRY to get them positioned right. then you had to use some type of a long object to try and move them around if they weren't. Oh boy that was CRAZY! We still have to use a step ladder for the new one but it is prelit so not tossing lights around it at least. Good luck!
