I'm in Palmdale which I think is east of you. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and lived for a year in Browns Cyn - it burned up a month ago in the fire that went thru Porter Ranch.

Now I won't live any place like that no matter how beautiful it is. I don't care so much about the house or stuff but I'd have nightmares about not being able to get out in time. We were supposed to go camping with Girlscouts in Bigbear & I was starting to get panicky about that - I was glad it was cancelled.

I'm a former So-Cal gal- it's fire season- things get dry, winds pick up and it just takes a tiny spark to make a huge fire. Add in droughts that last years and you have a perfect storm for wildfires.

Sharyn I don't blame you for being relieved! This year is particularly bad, I am just so glad they didn't find anyone in that mobile home park that didn't make it out. REALLY scary!
