poor thing! (I stayed away from that thread with a 10 foot pole!)

I have had them layback and close their eyes, put the drop in the corner-- then have them open their eye and it goes in!!! sometimes the 'anticipation' this way is worse...but you are sure to get them all in!

can you go back and ask for the salve stuff instead of drops?

the salve is easier than the drops.

for the drops:

you lay them on their back on the floor, you sit straddling their chest with their arms at their side.

put a pillow on one side of their head, use your forearm to the other side of the head and press it into the pillow while you use that hand to pry and hold open the eyelids so you can squirt the drops into the eye you have held open.

If DH is around, he can just hold the head still while you do the prying and squirting but really, the salve is much easier.
(and I do the last one at night while they're asleep in bed and can't see me coming)
