well, 101 isn't exactly a High fever. Fever, yes. But high? not yet.

yes, a person with a fever will sweat.
continue with the motrin and/or tylenol.
if it goes over 103.5 or she becomes lethargic and not resonsive, then take her in.
Push the fluids during the day and give her popcycles etc.
If she continues to have a temperature for more than a couple days, then bring her in. It may be an ear infection or something that needs antibiotics

That sounds normal. My doc wouldn't even consider 101 a real fever. Sarah had a fever of 104 when she was about 13 months old and we were told to watch her through the night with IB and call back in the morning.

I think that she'll be fine.

Keep an eye on her through the night and if you're still concerned in the morning, give your pediatrician a call. Sometimes kiddos get odd fevers without an obvious reason.

I hope she feels better soon--and you can get some rest tonight!

You gave her the motrin dose, and you can't do much more than that. And I agree... 101 really isn't that high.

I would check on her at least a couple times tonight. You'll be able to tell simply by touching her face if she has a really HIGH fever!

I might put a sippy cup/straw cup next to her with some water & encourage a few sips if she happens to wake up.

I think 101 is a decent fever, & the sweating is a sign that it broke, as the others said fluids and keep an eye on her - Eric gets high fevers (he's been up to 104) but even @ 101 I still consider that an issue, so if it comes back or gets much higher, Id take her into the dr and check her ears and throat (ERic also has had one ear infection and no symptoms!!!) good luck I hope she feels better soon, sick kids are no fun
