We are in the market for a new laptop (LONG STORY) anyways, we are thinking of a macbook. they are much more expensive but we have heard that they are "the way of the future" any thoughts, opinions, experiences?

Well...we are Mac people...LOVE them. We have had both, and definitely without a doubt prefer the Macs. My parents, brother/sil all have them too. They are pricier, but you do get what you pay for.

They are extremely user friendly, WAY less susceptible to viruses and just pretty!

They also have many very cool programs that they come with (iPhoto, iDvd, iCal, iTunes, iMovie etc). We have 2 iMacs and dh has a Macbook. They are awesome.

the PC computers have a stronghold in the market that just won't be let go of at this point in time. Macs may well be a part of the world forever, but I would bet money they'll never be dominate.

We're PC folks. Our friends have Macs and like them, but we're PC people.

I've always had PC's and then about 6mos ago switched over to the Mac. After years of the pc I have to say that I totally prefer my Mac. There are far more applications that are tailored to what I love; photo editing, dvd's, etc and Im finding that its less quirky and more reliable.

I disagree with Karen, I think Macs are definitely becoming more prevalent and are making a huge impact on the computer market. Mac has been hitting pc pretty hard with its advertising and I think its working.

Good luck with your decision!
