Default If I wanted to volunteer at a nursing home

Do you think there is stuff to do when I have a 2 year old with me? And how do I find out what there is available...call up some nursing homes? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Oh yes there would be plenty to do. My mom is an activity director at a nursing home and Wesley has been going up there since he was a baby. The residents love him being there and there is games there, like one is ballon volleyball and my son helps playes the game. Or my son and I volunteer to pass the mail around. I would just call and ask. If nothing else I know alot of them in the nursing home where my mom works don't have family and me and my boys will go in and just talk with them since they dont have anyone else.

Oh- the residents just love to have kids there!

I remember going to several nursing homes growing up- my grandma volunteered at a couple places and I always went with her. Some times we'd just hang out- she would talk to the people and I'd just play.

I know even recently, DH's grandpa was at a nursing home- they all just wanted to hug and kiss on the kids.
